Our Story

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” — Matthew 28:18-20

How It all Started

Park South Loop, originally Park Near South, was planted by Pastor Kensen Lam in 2010. This image shows the very first Sunday of that original church plant. The church initially met in a small gymnasium on Maxwell Street near UIC.  They were one of the first church plants of the Park Community Church family of Churches.

In 2014 Pastor Raef Chenery became the Lead Pastor, while Pastor Kensen Lam moved to a more centralized pastoral role among the various Park Churches.

Expanding the Vision through Church Planting

The Church continued to grow, and on Easter of 2016 planted Park Bridgeport under the leadership of Pastor Kensen Lam.

In 2021, a second Church plant in coordination with Park Bridgeport was launched in Hyde Park (image provided) under the leadership of Pastor Noah Chung.

Where We are Headed

God continues to do an extraordinary work in and through our Church. In the last few years we have been able to bring on an additional two associate pastors to shepherd the flock. We continue to see open doors for ministry across our city and around the globe. As our congregation grows, so does our heart to be found faithful in every work we do.
