Men's Ministry

"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong."

1 Corinthians 16:13

The Vision for the Men at our Church: Forging men into mature disciples of Jesus Christ, who cherish God’s Word, earnestly contend for the faith, boldly love & lead their families & communities, and sacrificially serve like Jesus. We seek to align our men towards a holistic vision of Biblical manhood using these four core principles.

  • WARRIOR: To be unashamed of the gospel, and to arm and equip men for spiritual warfare and encourage them to contend for the faith. (2 Thes. 1:8, Rev. 19:11-13)
  • LEADER: To equip men with the skills, values and confidence to become leaders who love and serve the church, their families, and also their community. (Matt. 20:26, Exod. 18:21)
  • DISCIPLE: To compel men to deepen their spiritual growth. At the same time have a teachable spirit, and be eager to be discipled, as much as to disciple other men. We believe that anyone, regardless of their level of spiritual maturity, can be a source of guidance and mentorship for those seeking to grow in their faith. (2 Tim. 2:1)
  • SERVANT: Jesus himself came to serve, not to be served. Foster servant leadership towards our families & in our community in full humility. (Luke 22:26)

Men's Gatherings

From time to time our men host gatherings aimed at connecting men with each other, investing in each other's spiritual walk with Christ, and creating opportunities for new onramps for discipleship to begin. These gatherings typically occur quarterly. See the events page for upcoming events or use the button above to let us know you're here and get included on the updates.

Men's Discipleship

At the heart of our our men's ministry is discipleship, men investing in other men, and pushing each other towards Christ.  Discipleship at Park South Loop takes many forms, but particularly for our men's ministry, we encourage men to enter into short term groups of two to three other men, where accountability, prayer, and study on a particular topic can take place. These discipleship groups are peer to peer, meaning the expectation is not that one more spiritually mature person is investing in a less spiritually mature person. As peers, committed to each other's growth, these groups push each other towards Christ, using the curriculum as a guide. At any given time we have many men from our Church committed to these short term peer-to-peer discipleship relationships.
A few years ago we put together a 10 week series on the topic of Biblical Manhood. This series is designed for groups of two or three men to go through, at their own pace, as they learn and encourage each other to grow as Kingdom Men. Together, you'll read the book Disciplines of a Godly Man by Kent Hughes. Additionally, videos for each week which will serve as the center of discussion for your time together. The material covers topics such as: fighting temptation, the disciplined life, friendship, masculine strength, prayer, leading women, fighting pornography, leading through conflict, our work, and disciple making.

Small Groups

Get Connected. Go Deeper.

Our Small Groups meet throughout the week to study God's Word, grow in community, pray together, and live out the one another's of Scripture. These groups are the primary way at Park South Loop to get plugged in and connected into the life of the Church.
